IAN
SWIMMING TEACHER, VICE CHAIR AND MEMBERSHIP/CLUB SECRETARY
I have been a member of Penguins since 2016, as a parent to a Penguin swimmer I joined to help out the club after they asked for more volunteers.
I started as a poolside assistant before moving onto teacher, coach and poolside coordinator. During this time I have completed Swim England Level 1 teaching assistant, Level 2 teacher and Level 1 coach.
As well as this I have been a committee member since 2017 taking on numerous roles in my time, including membership secretary, welfare officer and vice chairman.
By day I am an Architectural Technologist in Newark, involved in many projects from small extensions to large school developments and residential schemes.
I am a proud Penguin and hope to continue helping them for the foreseeable future.

Ian was nominated for the CP Sport Volunteer of the year 2020 "Ian is the poolside co-ordinator and membership secretary for Bingham Penguins Swimming Club spending hours behind the scenes organising sessions and communicating with families and in particular this year keeping everyone fully informed of the changes due to COVID. He undertakes CPD to develop his coaching and Makaton skills and excels in his role supporting the swimmers, families and other volunteers. He is incredibly dedicated to the club. "
