Volunteer Training

Bingham Penguins hold in-house group training sessions for its volunteers twice a year.  These training sessions are held during club session times and are mandatory for all new and existing volunteers.   The training includes an information slot and a pool based practical slot where volunteers get the chance to practice games and techniques to use with their swimmers. The training provides an opportuinity to induct new volunteer skills into the club and to give existing volunteers the chance to review and share their knowledge and skills.

In addition to in-house training.  The club has a policy of supporting its volunteers to attend approved Swim England training courses, where relevant and appropriate to the needs of the club.  You will need to have a shown a commitment of at least six months volunteering at the club prior to being considered for financial assistance for training.

I joined Penguins in 2018 to help out on poolside,  my twin sister is a swimmer with the club so it is great to help out.
I have completed my Swim England Level 1 and Level 2 training and love teaching on poolside.
I am currently studying Geography, Maths and Business A Levels at Sir William Robertson Academy and work part time with Puddleducks Lincolnshire a swim school for young swimmers.

I joined Penguins in 2019 and have loved helping out in the water.  My sister is a swimmer with the club so I wanted to do my bit to help out.
I would like to do Level 1 & Level 2 teacher training in the future.
I have just started in 6th form at Sir William Robertson Academy, studying English Literature, History & Geography.
